Notice Board: our registration form allowed for registration with non phrf handicaps. this was incorrect. according to rule 4.2 & 4.3  in the event rules, All boats shall have a valid 2025 PHRF BC certificate. VRC may assign a
temporary handicap rating to any boat (“Club Rating”) entering the race without a
valid PHRF certificate or wishes to sail in a non-rated configuration.
PHRF BC certificates will be verified against the BC Sailing PHRF BC database
after 1200 hours, Friday August 22, 2025. No further competitor-initiated rating
changes will be accepted after that time. we will make all attempts to assign phrf handicaps for those competitors who have not provided them.

What is the VRC Ken & Barbie race?

It’s a double-handed race! It was formerly known as the “Dynamic Duo Race,” formerly known as the “Ken and Barbie Race”

But I’ve never done a double-handed race before!

If you’ve never double-handed, here is a great opportunity to try it out! Come by the informal skipper’s meeting and get some pointers from others that have double-handed before.

Let me know and I’ll do my best to find crew for you.

Is there a dress code?

No, but there will be prizes for best and worst dressed, so swing by the Race Committee before the race to show off your costumes.

But I have a cruising boat and don’t race!

Come play anyway! If you don’t have a PHRF certificate, I can help you out with the application or assign you a club rating for the event! This is a great first event!
