The ARO course, suitable for those with little experience on a race committee, covers the duties of each job on the committee, with some attention to the structure of racing and the rules. The course takes about 6 hours, for groups of 8 to 25 people.
The Assistant Race Officer course is suitable for those with little experience on a race committee or sailors desiring to learn the basics of race management. The course covers the duties of each job on the committee, with some attention to the structure of racing and the rules. The course takes about 6 hours, for groups of 8 to 25 people.
Successful completion of this course grants the attendee automatic BC Sailing/Sail Canada Certification as an Assistant Race Officer (ARO). Certification for ARO is for four years. Assistant Race Officers (ARO) are certified by the BC Sailing Race Management Committee. Please select “I need copy of the Racing Rules of Sailing” check box on your registration if you require a rule book. Certified ARO and CRO officials must have a rule book. Books will be available for sale at $24.75 + GST. The Sail Canada booklet “Join the Race Committee” is also required and available at the seminar for $19.99 + GST if you do not already possess a copy.
Paid parking is available on Stanley Park Drive and in public lots throughout Stanley Park.
