Polar Bear – Dec 21st

Polar Bear Series / Racing / VRC

The rain stopped, the fog burned off and we even got a little wind for the December 21st Polar Bear races. We had another great turnout with about 30 boats and their crews coming out. Div 3 and 4 started first with a shorter course, with Div 1 and 2 starting 5 minutes late... Read More »

Remembrance Day Race – 2014

Racing / Remembrance Day / VRC

Yes, we remembered. Those who have fallen, that we may enjoy the life we have, are indeed remembered in the best way we know how, by going right out there and doing things that they have made possible. In our case, it’s yacht racing. At 11 AM we on the committee boat blew the horn several times to let the fleet know that the two minutes of silence was starting. Yes, we remembered. And we are... Wind! Again! Polar Bear Nov 9 Recap

Polar Bear Series / Racing / VRC

Wind! Again! So far, this polar bear series has seen more wind than the whole of last year’s series, and this is only the second day of racing. The committee boat, Beautiful Day, set up in it’s normal spot near QC. Soon 23 boats were circling around the start line, waiting for the start sequence. At 11:07 Div 1 and 2 roared across the line, beating their way to the Pt. Gray Bell Buoy in 8 to 10 kn... Read More »
