I had been out to dinner with friends the night before and we had curry, so I was expecting a certain amount of wind on Sunday. Once again we set off from the docks with little or no wind to speak of, the temperatures were suitable for flash freezing meat and there was ice around many of the boats at the dock – but the sun was out, or at least it appeared shortly after arriving on the race course. I was going to stop there, but then I realized that in actual fact we all had a great day, in spite of the fact that there was not a breath of wind. Our race today was to be a pursuit race with the slowest boats going off first and the fastest some 45 minutes later with all the others at regular intervals in between.
